Meridian is an open-source project serving contributors and users across the Stellar ecosystem, with a particular focus on emerging markets in West Africa. We are committed to maintaining a welcoming, professional, and respectful community for everyone regardless of background, experience level, nationality, or identity.
All participants in Meridian's community — contributors, maintainers, and users — are expected to:
- Communicate respectfully and constructively in all project spaces (issues, pull requests, discussions, and any other channels)
- Provide and receive feedback professionally — critique code and ideas, not people
- Acknowledge when you are wrong and learn from it gracefully
- Support contributors who are new to Stellar, Soroban, or DeFi
- Respect the time and effort of maintainers and fellow contributors
- Keep all discussions focused on the project and its goals
The following will not be tolerated in any project space:
- Personal attacks, insults, or derogatory language directed at any participant
- Publishing private information (addresses, contact details) of any person without explicit consent
- Sustained disruption of discussions, reviews, or project channels
- Any conduct that a reasonable person would consider unprofessional or inappropriate in a collaborative technical environment
This Code of Conduct applies to all Meridian project spaces including GitHub Issues, Pull Requests, Discussions, the repository wiki, and any other official communication channels. It also applies when a contributor is officially representing the project in public forums.
Instances of unacceptable behaviour may be reported via GitHub Discussions (select Q&A and mark private if needed)
All reports will be reviewed promptly and handled with discretion. The maintainer is obligated to keep reporter information confidential.
Enforcement actions may include a warning, temporary suspension from project spaces, or a permanent ban, depending on the severity and frequency of the violation.
This Code of Conduct is inspired by the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1.
