Pyproject.toml setup broken

for me the pyproject.toml route is broken with the 4.4.4 sources (Python 3.10):

No packagesorpy_modules configuration, performing automatic discovery. which fails

May you please restore setup.py from 6ed01c3 ?

I don't know what "broken" means here, but I suspect this is related to issue #347?

This should work (again) with the next release. For the time being, a workaround is described in the above linked issue.

I don't think that going back to setup.py would be a good way to proceed.

If the issue is what I suspect, it should now work with the development branch. Otherwise, could you post the command and the error?
