I've got another program called agent running, and era agent says error: another instance of agent is already running with PID 3156

You may perhaps use a flock to try ensure only one instance is runing ?

Hey there - I think that's an option but I recommend using this project going forward: https://github.com/smol-machines/smolvm.

I am able to build in better fixes by building in a layer closer to the vmm.
