Getting error: "Package nameref Warning: The definition of \label has changed! Check your packages! Replacing it with the kernel definition on input line 145."

Thanks for identifying this. It seems to occur with figures and tables that have side captions. I haven't noticed any issues that arise from this error message, so I think it can be ignored for now. If it is causing incorrect behavior, can you let me know?

It would be good to fix this, but I probably won't get to it for quite some time.

I have seen this warning in Overleaf, but not on the LaTeX installation on my computer. With that said, I tend to use Overleaf as the benchmark to determine if everything is in order with the byuthesis.cls and related files. Thanks Jeff for narrowing it down to the side captions. I spent a couple hours trying to track the source of this warning down, but have been unsuccessful. I will say that it is a "warning" and not an "error" so at least things compile. Thanks for reporting this.
