Codeman 1.42.0 is out. The big one: every agent on a repo can get its own git worktree now, so two agents working at once stop stepping on each other's files. Codex sessions also turn red when Codex is waiting on you, and you can hand an agent a PDF or a spreadsheet the way you hand it a screenshot. 13 PRs, 10 of them from four contributors (one first-timer).
Git worktrees for a case. When two agents share one repo folder, they edit the same files, clobber each other's builds and commit each other's half-done work. Pick a case that's a git repo, choose Git worktrees… in the case picker (Worktrees on the phone's case sheet), give it a name and pick the CLI. Codeman creates
<case>/.claude/worktrees/<name>on its own branch and opens a session in it, in a tab named after the worktree. Open starts another session in a worktree you already have. Removing one is a plaingit worktree remove, never--force, so uncommitted work stays put, and Close Session can kill the session and remove its worktree in one go. It's the same layout Claude Code's ownclaude --worktreeuses, so each sees the other's worktrees. Your.gitignoreis never touched; Codeman keeps the main checkout clean through the repo's local.git/info/exclude.Codex turns red when it asks you something. Codex has no hooks, so a codex session waiting on "Would you like to run the following command?" used to look idle, and one waiting on a question even looked busy. Now Codeman reads Codex's approvals, its questions and the trust prompt on a new repo off the screen and raises them like a Claude permission prompt: red tab, desktop notification, push, webhook, the phone's NEEDS YOU row and an Approvals Inbox card telling you to answer in the terminal. An agent driving codex workers can wait for it with
until=blocked.Hand an agent a document. @JDProfresh made the Attach button, drag and drop and paste take PDFs, Word, PowerPoint and Excel files, zips and text files (txt, md, csv, json, log, yaml, xml and friends), not just images and videos. The path lands on your prompt, unsent. Codeman looks at each file's actual bytes on the way in, so a program renamed to
.pdfgets refused. The Compose and paste dialogs' button now says Attach.A note after each update. @opticon454 added a one-time toast that lists a release's headlines the first time a browser loads the new version, with a button to the full notes. Nobody has the "seen" marker yet, so the first one you'll actually see is for the release after this one.
Rebindable session switching. Also from @opticon454: Previous and Next Session (Alt/Option+[ and ]) are now regular rows in Settings, Shortcuts. Capturing a chord another action already uses is refused with the name of that action, and a chord you rebound no longer also types into the terminal.
Multi-user mode got stricter. If you run Codeman with several users: until now any regular user could change the server-wide settings, start a self-update, rotate the tunnel QR code or sign everyone out (admins too), and could read a Deepgram key an admin had saved. Now only admins can, and Revoke All signs a regular user out of their own logins only. A regular user's per-device settings still save, and their own run mode and respawn presets stay in their browser. Single-user setups don't change at all.
Fixes.
codeman agent, the MCP server, cron or the skill: they now go in as one paste plus a separate Enter. A single character like3oryis still typed, so menu answers keep picking the right option..mkvor Android.3gpis refused right away instead of after uploading up to a gigabyte, and the prompt-cache readout sticks to the CLIs that report one.pnpm).While landing all this the reviews turned up a few more: removing a worktree that a Docker case uses as its workspace is refused before git runs (it would have deleted a folder a container still mounts), Codex's trust prompt also counts as blocked when you reach it through its "Update available" screen, and the DeepSeek install no longer fails on machines that already have a corepack
